The Los Angeles Police Department has submitted an elder abuse investigation into the death of legendary disc jockey Casey Kasem to the L.A. County D.A. The department is said to be investigating the role Jean, Kasem's wife, played in his death.

After Casey died, his children filed a police report claiming that Jean had purposely cause Casey to develop bed sores, which eventually became infected and contributed to his death.

Mike, Julie and Kerri, his children with first wife Linda Myers, claimed to police that Jean was more intent on keeping Casey from them rather than keeping him safe and healthy.

Casey's kids said that Jean took Casey on an interstate trip before his death. She had purposely removed him from the nursing home he was residing when Kerri was granted temporary conservatorship over her father. During that time, Casey was already suffering from an advanced stage of Parkinson's Disease.

Although the LAPD has filed a case with the county D.A., police officials have told gossip site TMZ that is seems unlikely that charges will be filed against Jean because there is not enough evidence to back up the children's claims.

After Casey died last June, his children pushed for a full autopsy, but Jean resisted and removed his body from the funeral home without their consent.

The star's body is allegedly rotting in Norway, but has not been buried or even been embalmed.

Despite pleas from Casey's children, Jean has refused to bring back Casey's corpse to the United States. Jean has stated that she wants to bury Casey in Scandinavia.

Kerri, who claims that their family has no affiliation with Norway, penned a letter to the Norwegian government, saying, "As beautiful as your country is, our father has never spoken of any desire to be buried in Norway either to us or to his friends. In fact, it was the opposite. 'Casey wanted to be buried in his hometown of Los Angeles, California, his home of over 53 years. Do not be fooled into believing his wife, Jean Kasem, who abandoned and isolated him during the last year of his life."
