(Photo : Reuters) Lady Gaga has been named Woman of the Year at the Billboard Women in Music Award.
Lady Gaga was raped when she was a teenager, the 28-year-old pop singer revealed on The Howard Stern Show, MailOnline reports.
Gaga also said her rapist was a music producer who was 20 years her senior. She was initially not interested on talking about that harrowing moment in her life but the radio host pressed on.

Gaga said that the incident is now one of those "horrific things that I'm able to laugh [at] now."
The singer also detailed that she has gone through mental, physical and emotional therapy to be able to recover. However, what she is now is just a shell of her former self, the best-selling singer said.
"My music's been wonderful for me. But, you know, I was a shell of my former self at one point. I was not myself.
'To be fair, I was about 19. I went to Catholic school and then all this crazy stuff happened, and I was going, "Oh, is this just the way adults are?'...I was very naïve,"' she narrated.
"It happens every day, and it's really scary, and it's sad. It didn't affect me as much right after as it did about four or five years later. It hit me so hard. I was so traumatized by it that I was like, 'Just keep going.' Because I just had to get out of there," Gaga continued.
However, Gaga was adamant that she doesn't want to live with that experience.
"I don't want to be defined by it," she said.
"I'll be damned if somebody's gonna say that every creatively intelligent thing that I ever did is all boiled down to one d-khead who did that to me," she continued.
Stern then inquired if she ever managed to confront the rapist
"I think it would terrify me. It would paralyze me," she answered.
She said she once saw him time in a store and that instance stunned her with fear.
Gaga did not tell what happened to her that time, although she decided to seek help, "otherwise it just won't go away. It will not go away," she said.
