Apple to Develop Virtual Reality Gaming Hardware; Seeks Oculus Rift Specialists

Apple Inc. may be seeking to immerse itself into the world of gaming through virtual reality and developing "cinematic user interfaces" for future products, 9to5Mac reports.
Earlier reports described Apple expanding into the virtual reality industry after a VR app engineer job listing was posted on the company's website. But the tech company posted more job listings that show some insight into what Apple is planning with its virtual reality expansion.

One of the Apple job listings is looking for a game engineer with extensive knowledge and experience in virtual and augmented reality. The description of what the job would entail requires the game engineer to develop software using "state-of-the-art physics-based world simulation, visuals and virtual reality" in an effort to help develop new next-generation products for Apple.
Apple also posted a job listing looking for an App Engineer with experience in virtual reality, specifically with knowledge of the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset as well as the Leap Motion computer sensor device.
"This engineer will create high performance apps that integrate with Virtual Reality systems for prototyping and user testing," the job description reads.
Apple has already obtained a patent in September on a "goggle system for providing a personal media viewing experience" and released an image that looks awfully similar to the Oculus Rift's virtual reality headset. It appears the new goggle system will indeed be new virtual reality hardware and the newest Apple product to be introduced to consumers on a commercial level sometime in the future.
Several companies are making their way into the new virtual reality industry, and even social networking company Facebook chimed in as it acquired the Oculus Rift headset in July for $2 billion. Now Apple seeks to capitalize on the growing industry and implement its own virtual reality headset and software.
