Four years after a horrible accident had rendered her paralyzed, Rachelle Friedman Chapman is now ready to start a family.
The twenty-eight year old took to AMA Reddit to share her journey since being a quadriplegic four years ago.
In 2010, just before she was to be married to fiancé Chris, one of her best friends had jokingly pushed her into a 2 feet deep pool during her bachelorette party. She was rushed to a nearby hospital in Virginia Beach, VA where it was determined that she had suffered a break in the c6 vertebra leaving her paralyzed from the chest down.

A year after the incident, she got married to her fiancé and has been actively into sports and writing.
Now, she shares to the world the next chapter in her journey. She announces that she and husband Chris are now ready to start a family.
Although her doctors had told her that she is able to conceive, her condition makes it hard for her to carry the child safely to term. But with the inadvertent help of the publicity of her accident, she has found an old college friend who has agreed to be a surrogate through social media site Facebook.
According to ABC News, the IVF process has already begun. Fertility doctors are currently testing the embryos formed from the couple's eggs and sperm and are ready to begin with fertilization.
Friedman Chapman says that they will begin with the process after the finalization of the insurance papers. In addition to that, it was cited that the couple would have to shell out some $20,000 to cover for the costs of legal fees, medical care and insurance.
Non-profit organization, Surrogacy Together, was reported to have offered their assistance with the funding.
Friedman Chapman's book entitled, "The Promise: a Tragic Accident, a Paralyzed Bride and the Power of Love, Loyalty and Friendship" talks about her journey since the accident.
ABC News says that one of the most important values from the book was the power of friendship. In the book, it revealed that she and her best friends in the bachelorette party had made a promise to never reveal who had playfully pushed her into the pool.
Friedman Chapman says that her family has also kept the identity of that friend secret and did not hold her responsible for what happened.
In an interview, Friedman Chapman's mother, Carol, said the book hopes to impart to readers the power of love and friendship in helping one overcome the trials and tribulations of life.
