Google has announced that it is creating child-friendly versions of its products.
Pavni Diwanji, the company's vice president of engineering, told USA Today that there could be a customized version of YouTube made especially for kids that are 12 years old and younger as well as their most popular products to protect kids from the dangers of the internet.

However, it has not been outlined which products will have the kid-friendly versions but USA Today pointed out that the company will most likely target products that are already known by children such as Chrome and YouTube.
Diwanji also noted that children need different features than what adults are using, and a more advanced filtering system and privacy settings should be considered.
"The big motivator inside the company is everyone is having kids, so there's a push to change our products to be fun and safe for children," Diwanji said. "We want to lay the foundation right, and then make sure every single part of Google is great for kids. They are the future, so why not give them the tools to let them create it."
The versions are said to be worked on by next year but no exact date has been released by the search engine giant.
Google has always encouraged children to get involved with science and technology such as Google's Doodle competition, science fairs and maker camps. Also, Google has their own "Kids Studio" where children of the employees could go and test out the early stages of their products and inventions.
