Christmas will never be complete without home decorations such as a Christmas tree and Christmas lights.
Traditional Christmas lights come as lights attached to electric wires that may be hazardous and can sometimes cause fires. Two businessmen, Chris Higgins and Hardeep Johar, have started a Kickstarter campaign to help eliminate the risk of Christmas lights sparking fires.

Their solution is a a special light bulb called Aura. Each Aura bulb has an LED bulb inside it powered by a special Wi-Fi Aura Power Ring that transmits power wirelessly to the bulbs. The Aura bulbs light up when they're within range of the wireless power ring.
Basically, Aura bulbs are wireless Christmas LED lights that use wireless technology and smartphones. No more wires.
The good thing about this Christmas wonder is that you can also control it with the use of any smartphone. Aura has a free app for iOS, Windows and Android users that they need to download.
Once app is installed, smartphone users just need to select the Wi-Fi Aura Power Ring to turn the lights on oroff, to set the timer and set schedules on-the-go.
"This is really a brand new technology and there is nothing quite like it," said Higgins. "I was inspired to make it because of the amount of wires that suffocate and weigh trees down."
To begin mass production of the Aura bulbs, the partner's Kickstarter campaign must raise US$50,000. They've already raised US$42,504. The duo still has 44 days to reach their funding goal.
