Bill Cosby's lawyers claimed that the actor's accuser attempted to extort money from him and that she attempted to sell her story to a tabloid a decade ago.
If Cosby's part makes a strong claim, this could undermine the lawsuit filed by Judy Huth against the comedian in California.

The lawsuit claimed that Cosby molested her in 1974 when she was just 15.
The sexual assault, according to the lawsuit, took place at the Playboy Mansion.
Meanwhile, a court filing Thursday made by Martin Singer, Cosby's legal counsel, requested for the dismissal of the case and claims for monetary damages, The Associated Press reports.
Singer claimed that the suit was filed only after she failed to extort $100,000 from the comedian, in exchange for her silence, a month ago.
But Huth, Singer claimed, did not stop there. She asked for money $250,000 once again, as more women came forward to accuse the comedian of sexual assault after drugging them.
In a report by TMZ, Cosby claimed Huth attempted to raise money by selling her story to the tabloids 10 years ago. However, nobody picked it up.
If Cosby's claim is proven true, this could significantly impact Huth's lawsuit, which stated that it was only recently that she realized she'd suffered psychological damage resulting from the alleged molestation.
Huth claimed she was just a minor at the time Cosby assaulted her. California law allows a complainant to file a lawsuit and demand compensation if the case is filed within three years of remembering the incident and linking it to her trauma.
If it is proven that she tried to sell her story a decade ago, that could definitely disqualify her claim.
Likewise, Huth's lawsuit did not come with the certification from a psychologist required to support her claim of a newly discovered trauma.
The certification is needed if the case is to proceed under rules extending the statute of limitations, Cosby's filing states.
