Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei implied on Sunday that negotiations over the country's illicit nuclear arms program would not continue and that the Islamic Republic's ideals included destroying America.
Khamenei said Iran needed to develop a more combative mindset in order to achieve its higher Islamic role and stand up to 'oppressors'.

Iran's nuclear program was launched in the 1950s with the help of the US, and in recent days Iran and the West have delved into negotiations reportedly with the goal of helping Iran develop a peaceful nuclear program.
Negotiations between Iran and United States, Russia, China, France, Britain and Germany have been underway in Vienna over the last week with the six powers hoping to convince Iran to agree to scale back uranium enrichment and other sensitive nuclear activity as well as accept more arduous U.N. inspections in order to deny it any capability of rapidly producing atomic bombs.
Tehran issued a statement denying having any such underlying ambition, claiming that its nuclear program is for power generation and medical purposes only.
The seven nations were unable to reach any agreement, raising concerns over the lack of tangible progress in ending the West's dispute with Iran over the nation's nuclear energy program.
The Iranian negotiation team said the West was pursuing unreasonable and "excessive demands" during the discussions which resulted in the stalemate, according to officials close to Iran's team of negotiators.
Khamenei was quoted by the regime's Fars News Agency as saying that Iranians who want to promote negotiatiations with the West were committing treason.
When asked how long the war between Jihad and its oppressors would last, Khamenei responded by saying that once society could rid itself of the oppressors, including America, only then would the struggle cease.
