A fight between boxing superstars Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao is a fight that most people want to see, and it could happen soon. However, for it to take place, Mayweather is seeking to collect two-thirds of the revenue from the fight.

These two fighters can arguably be called the best in the world. They are two boxers who are now in their prime. This is the reason that the fight is so enticing, and people don't want the two to retire before it is done.

The only hurdle that seems to be getting in the way is money.

According to a Sports Illustrated report by Chris Mannix, Mayweather wants a significant portion of the fight money. Two-thirds of the revenue to be exact.

Mannix notes that the anticipation for the fight is reaching a fever pitch and that "there continues to be indications that the finances of this showdown will be a significant obstacle," a source close to Mayweather said.

At the same time, Mannix says Pacquiao promoter Bob Arum has disputed the number.

"Arum declined to discuss specifics of the split but said he has been in contact with CBS CEO Les Moonves this week -- CBS is the parent company of Showtime, which has an exclusive deal with Mayweather -- and that "based on my conversations, that is not accurate," he added.

After so many years of hype over a fight that is yet to happen, it has come to the forefront of what is relevant to society once again.

Pacquiao had contributed much to this, going so far as to call Mayweather out after defeating Chris Algieri recently.

"I think it's time to make that fight happen," Pacquiao said. "The fans really deserve that fight. It's time to say yes, so people can prepare for early next year."

Whatever the number Mayweather is asking for, it is not unwarranted.

In Mayweather's last fight, he drew 925,000 buys as opposed to Pacquiao's 300,000.
