Beyonce Has The Most Grammy Nominations Now

R & B diva Beyoncé made history as she became the most-nominated female artist in the history of Grammys.

The singer-actress scored her 47th nomination when her album Drunk in Love got a nod for the best urban contemporary album after nominees for the 2015 Grammys were initially announced this morning.

Beyonce, for a time, held the record together with country legend Dolly Parton, but with Beyonce's 47 nominations to Parton's 46, the R & B singer is now the sole record-holder.

Parton has won seven Grammy awards; the last time she was honored was in 2001.

Beyoncé, meanwhile, collected 17 trophies, which spanned the time she shared the trophy in 2000 with Destiny's Child's for "Say My Name" until she earned her most recent in 2012 for her solo hit, "Love on Top."

Beyonce is so far the third female artist with the most Grammy wins, following the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin, with 18 trophies, and country music singer Alison Krauss, with a whopping 27 wins.

However, Beyonce is still a Grammy winning league of her own after grabbing six Grammy trophies in 2010, the year when "Single Ladies" became a smash hit, making her the female artist who won the most Grammys in just one night.

Adele later enjoyed the same feat, tying with Beyonce.

What is interesting is that while Beyoncé was able to win the son of the year award, a feat she shared with the writers of "Single Ladies," the top prizes eluded her recently.

She got nominations for record of the year honors for "Say My Name," "Crazy in Love," "Irreplaceable," and "Halo," and an album of the year nomination for I Am... Sasha Fierce, although she hasn't won in any of those nominations.
