Country singer Miranda Lambert graces the cover of Marie Claire's January 2015 issue, and shares her views about songwriting, weight loss and marriage.
The 31-year old artist recounted an experience she had as a young, aspiring singer. Lambert shared that another artist had told her to change who she was, and to pretend she was someone else. Despite being green back then, she said she felt there was something terribly wrong about someone telling you to be someone else other than yourself.

She also narrated that there were those who told her to adjust her lyrics so that they would be more appealing to the public. However, she said she refused to compromise, saying that she would "rather sell four copies of something that's real than 4 million copies of something that's fake."
While her career is going stronger than she ever imagined (and no, her lyrics didn't just lead to four copies of her album being sold), her marriage is going even stronger, despite her confession that she's not always the happiest person walking the earth.
"I'm not sunshine and roses. Blake's the happiest person on the planet. He pulls me out of my darkness... Literally everything is the best about being married," she admitted.
And marriage certainly seems good on her. Lambert just recently lost 20 pounds, and looks better than ever.
Lambert shared that she is insecure just like everybody else. Recounting how uneasy she felt when she weighed heavier and was constantly criticized by everyone, she admitted that "it does feel good to know that your shit's not jiggling."
She shared, however, that she hates how everybody has made a big issue out of it, and how the public just focuses way too much on how women look.
"Why do we care? I want women to love themselves whatever they've got going on," she declared.
The issue will hit newsstands on December 16.
