American actor David Schwimmer, most known for his role as Ross Geller in defunct NBC sitcom, Friends, assisted New York Police in an investigation of a robbery that happened next to his apartment by letting them view captured footage from his security camera.
New York Police officials arrested suspect, Ronert Rainey, 21 and said they would be able to build a case against him using the actor's surveillance videos.

The footage had captured the tail end of the fight between the suspect and the victim as both of them had spilled out of the apartment and out into the street.
The victim, a 26-year-old man, was reported to have come home in the early morning with a prostitute when he learned that there was an intruder inside the apartment, according to New York Daily News.
According to local police, the intruder was attempting to steal a laptop when he was discovered by the owner.
Meanwhile, the prostitute, a transsexual woman who may have been an accomplice, sprayed the victim with pepper spray and immediately fled the scene.
To save his laptop from being stolen, the 26-year-old man had grabbed a box cutter but Rainey allegedly wrestled it from him and slashed him in the face.
The fight continued on out into the street. A bystander, a law student who lives near the area, had described the scene as bloody.
Authorities had arrived at the scene and arrested Rainey with charges of assault with intent to cause dismemberment and disfigurement, criminal possession of stolen property, criminal mischief, and robbery.
Rainey was brought to Beth Israel Medical Center cuts on his arms suffered after throwing a brick through a glass door while the 26-year-old victim was brought to Bellevue Hospital where doctors stitched the gash in his face.
