South Korean actor Hyun Bin has become an advertisers' favorite after ending his tour of duty with the military. Hyun was at fourth place in a survey conducted by a tvN variety show, released December 8, as to who among the boys of entertainment will likely benefit from military service.
The show reported that Hyun was very popular after the "Secret Garden" was released, but his showbiz career was interrupted when he voluntarily chose to serve in the navy. Hyun is said to hold a high regard for the navy and had been vocal about his dream to enlist in the service.

Hyun's decision to enter the military at the height of his popularity came as shocking news for many people such that his every move hit the spotlight, making him the "hottest" actor at the time.
During his two-year military service, Hyun was said to have been diligent and persistent, earning many honors until he retired in December 2012.
After that, Hyun signed more than 10 advertisement contracts even before he decided to formally return to dramas and films.
"The Fatal Encounter", the first movie Hyun starred in after his retirement from military service, was a success.
The variety show also noted that actor Zo In Sung's passion for the air force, influenced in part by his father's own career, was his overwhelming reason for entering the military.
"My father is from air force. I heard not a few stories of air force, so I have infinite yearning from the blue uniform and aircraft," said Zo In Sung.
