Canadian singer-songwriter Avril Lavigne is reportedly suffering from a mysterious illness; however, details about her health condition are still unclear.

Lavigne's current health condition came to light when she tweeted a message to her fans saying that she has been absent of late due to health issues.

"I feel bad because I haven't been able to say anything to the fans to let them no [sic] why I have been absent," Avril wrote. "I'm torn as I'm quite private. I'm not feeling well. I'm having some health issues. So please keep me in your prayers."

Lavigne was missing in action after she released her "Hello Kitty" music video which some people claimed to be a racist video. Her absence made her fans wonder, what really happened to Lavigne. One twitter fan account managed to send a direct message to the singer and asked her about her current working status.

According to Lavigne's reply, she mentioned that she felt bad because she was not able to say anything to her fans to let them know why she is not currently active. She also said that she was not feeling well and she is having health issues. The singer also asked her fans to include her in their prayers. The twitter fan account also twitted #GetWellSoonAvril #PrayForAvril  on Dec. 7.

Although Lavigne revealed that she has a health issues and asking for prayers, she still chose to keep it private. Her representative also refused to comment about Lavigne's health issue.

Lavigne is a Canadian-French singer-songwriter who became popular with her first single "Complicated" and was known for her tomboyish fashion style which gained her the title, "pop punk princess".  Lavigne already released five studio albums, including her latest album "Avril Lavigne".  The single "Here's to Never Growing Up" and her duet with his current husband, Chad Kroeger, "Let Me Go" are all included in her latest album. Lavigne is also a well-rounded musician, she can play the guitar, piano and the drums.
