A pregnant Pakistani woman was stoned to death Tuesday by her own family outside a courthouse in the city of Lahore -- reportedly for marrying the man she loved.
The woman was on her way to the courthouse to contest abduction charges her family had filed against her husband when she was attacked by nearly 20 family members, including her father and brothers.

The mob beat the woman and her husband with batons and bricks before a crowd of onlookers, police investigators said.
The woman was identified as 25-year-old Farzana Parveen and died in the attack. Her husband, 45-year-old Mohammad Iqbal, escaped with his life but police did not specify what injuries, if any, he sustained from the incident.
According to reports, Iqbal started seeing Parveen after the death of his wife, with whom he had five children.
Parveen's family did not approve of the union but the couple went ahead and registered for marriage anyway.
In traditional Pakistani culture, marriage for love is considered a transgression and arranged marriages are the norm.
These customs have resulted in hundreds of Pakistani women being killed each year in 'honor killings'. In 2013 alone, around 869 women were murdered in honor killings, according to a report released by the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan.
Police said that when the couple approached the courthouse, Praveen's family members fired shots in the air and tried to snatch her away from Iqbal. When she resisted, they began beating her - at one point even assaulting her with bricks from a nearby construction site.
Praveen's father was arrested and charged with murder, but exhibited no regret and according to the lead investigator was quoted as saying:
"I killed my daughter as she had insulted all of our family by marrying a man without our consent, and I have no regret over it."
