Hong Kong star Jacky Cheung will be back in the music scene after a seven-year hiatus with the release of his new album 'Wake Up Dreaming' on December 23.
Hong Kong's Heavenly King is making a comeback before the year ends with a new album set for release before Christmas. Cheung, who had been missing from the music scene for the past seven years, is releasing this album exclusively through Tencent, a Chinese website.

The singing legend is said to have agreed on a deal with the Chinese portal for a price of NT$300 million. Tencent would then be the official site where his album would be sold.
Last November 8, during the press conference for the promotion of the album, the singer-songwriter and actor shared that he has been involved in conceptualizing and creating his new album. The production crew is said to have integrated different styles for the new songs by incorporating folk and English rock elements.
In addition, the 53-year old singer and actor shared that 'Wake Up Dreaming' was originally slated for release in October of this year. However, he explained that the release had to be delayed for two months in order for him to have time to practice the new songs.
Despite the delayed release, Cheung's production team has released two singles from the album entitled 'The Rest of Time' and 'Tears of Time' last October. The songs increased the hype and anticipation of his fans for his upcoming album.
In addition, to celebrate Cheung's 30th anniversary in the entertainment industry, his record label presented him with an award for his 15 albums, all of which sold a total of 60 million copies, an unbeaten record in the Mando-pop music scene.
"Regardless of the sales figure, every album represents a milestone. I value each one of them very much," Cheung said.
Furthermore, he has revealed that he is currently exploring new horizons in the music scene and stated that he has been choosing scripts for a musical he will star in next year.
