The unmanned cameras have the ability to cover an entire area of a sporting event, capturing videos from all possible angles. It also lets users zoom in and out of any part of a venue.
The investment aims to increase Pixellot's research and development and expand its market reach internationally.
According to a report in The Times of Israel, Senior Director Peter Fang of Baidu's corporate development said the company is delighted to bring the technology to users in mainland China.
"For the first time, video content producers can broadcast concerts, sports, and stage events and enable the audience to watch streaming video with total freedom to choose camera angles in real time on their devices."
Last month, the Chinese tech giant also unveiled features for its new smart bike technology called the DuBike. The features include health, navigation and security features.
The smart bike is set to launch by 2015. The Chinese company also recently announced its move into China's online literary market.
