Sony Hit Twice by Hackers

The massive hack that hit Sony Pictures in November, considered by some security experts as the most serious to hit any company, should prod companies to pay more attention to cyber security, which only makes sense.

Well, Sony didn't seem to do anything about the first hack and has been hit by a second, equally serious attack.

NBC News reported the second attack hit Sony's PlayStation Network gaming service this week. The attack took the PlayStation Network offline.

During the attack, site visitors were greeted with the message, "Page Not Found! It's not you. It's the Internet's fault." Gamers also reported difficulties playing online games.

An unknown individual or a group calling itself Lizard Squad claimed responsibility. It tweeted "PSN Login #offline #LizardSquad".

Gizmodo said hackers who hit Sony in November called themselves "the GOP working all over the world." GOP has released a new post together with data saying all these pieces of information were taken from Sony's servers.

The group said in the event Sony doesn't give in to their demand, which is to cancel the release of the movie, "The Interview," they'll reveal the stolen data. GOP means "Guardians of Peace."

"The Interview" stars James Franco and Seth Rogen and is a story about two TV journalists who agree to assassinate North Korean dictator, Kim Jong-Un. The message and the hack are proof the hackers are North Koreans, said some sources.

North Korea denied being behind the attack, however. Adding to the confusion as to the real identity of GOP is a recent statement saying the latest GOP message wasn't sent by the people who sent the first message.
