Stars Dev Patel and Freida Pinto have reportedly called it quits, ending their six-year relationship.

The reason for the couple's split has yet to be revealed.

Patel and Pinto met in 2008 on the set of the highly acclaimed, Oscar-winning flick "Slumdog Millionaire".

A source close to the couple said they have actually been separated for a while now, and that Pinto is currently single and dating other men. Friends of the actress are said to be actively setting her up on dates.

Although Pinto is six years older than Patel, the actor once referred to her as his "soulmate," to which Pinto agreed and said that she felt the same way about him.

In an interview with Contact Music in 2008, the 24-year old "The Newsroom" star gushed about his then-yet-to-be girlfriend, saying, "We're soul mates because we're both in this surreal situation. She is very beautiful... I haven't got a girlfriend but Freida, my co-star, is gorgeous."

Patel and Pinto were said to have been so in love that they both previously told US Weekly that they don't celebrate Valentine's Day because for them, each day with each other is "a celebration of love".

However, last October, Pinto did not spend her 30^th birthday with Patel and she didn't look the least bothered. Instead, she was spotted with billionaire and liquor baron Siddharth Mallya.

During her birthday celebration, Pinto took to Instagram to post a photo of herself holding up a liquor bottle and captioned it, "I would love to post an after pic. But I dare not."

Pinto also remained tight-lipped about her romance with Patel in an interview with Harper's Bazaar Arabia, despite opening up about the other aspects of her life.

Before Pinto started dating Patel, she was engaged to her former publicist, Rohan Antao, until January 2009.
