Angelea Preston, one of the contestants of "America's Next Top Model", is alleging that Tyra Banks, host and executive producer of the said reality show, denied her the grand prize after the show's management uncovered her past as an escort.
In a lawsuit filed with the Los Angeles Superior Court, Preston is seeking at least $3 million for breach of contract and both intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress.

Her suit stated that the models were subjected to poor working conditions.
Aside from Banks, the CW Network was also mentioned as a defendant in the said lawsuit.
Preston said as winner of cycle 17, she was supposed to be awarded the grand prize, which included a fashion spread in Vogue Italia and a $100,000 package with CoverGirl cosmetics.
Cycle 17 saw previous contestants from other cycles competing with one another. Preston was part of cycle 14 and had finished 3rd at that time.
The model claimed that she was not given the prizes, even if she did not violate the rules of the show. Preston admitted that she did work as an escort in the past, but she had been in the said career before she joined the reality show. She asserted that while filming for the series, she was no longer working as an escort.
Preston also told TMZ in 2011 that the producers of "ANTM" knew that she had worked for an escort for around a year, and that she had told them about it in confidence. She said she was surprised that the news had quickly spread to the cast, crew, and consequently, the public.
After the finale was taped, Banks had gone on air to say that Preston was disqualified and that Lisa D'Amato, who was part of cycle 5, was the winner of cycle 17.
