46-year old actor Dimitri Diatchenko is currently accused of killing and eating his former girlfriend's pet rabbit and threatening to do the same to her.

Diatchenko was said to have taken out his anger on Ella the rabbit after his ex-girlfriend decided that they should no longer be living together. The two were still living in the same house despite no longer being in a romantic relationship.

According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, while his former girlfriend was out of the house, the actor decided to kill the rabbit. He then proceeded to skin it, cook it, and eat it - all the "while sending her step-by-step pictures of what he did."

When she arrived home, the actor allegedly told her he would do to her what he did to her rabbit.

Although police officers told KCAL9's Kristine Lazar that Diatchenko confessed to killing and eating the rabbit, Lazar shared that she had spoken to the actor over the phone and that he had denied to killing the animal.

"This is all a misunderstanding. We got into an argument, but I didn't kill the bunny. This was a hoax," the actor claimed.

Instead, the actor stated that he bought rabbit meat from the store and set the pet rabbit free, just so his former girlfriend would think that he had killed and eaten her pet.

KCAL9's Serene Branson spoke to a woman claiming to be the actor's ex. She said that what Diatchenko said about the rabbit was true.

"This is just all ridiculous. Completely untrue. Everybody's fine. The bunny's fine. Nothing happened to her. She's at my house," the woman stated.

If the actor did kill the animal, and threatened his ex, he could possibly be sentenced to a maximum of five years in jail. He is currently free on US$50,000 bond.
