In a groundbreaking disclosure, Google revealed on Wednesday that the majority of the internet giant's employee workforce is comprised of white males, according to a recent workforce diversity report.
The data showed that 70 percent of Google's employees are male, and in the US 62 percent are white. Asians accounted for another 30 percent of the workforce while Hispanics made up a mere 3 percent.

The release of the report is part of Google's move toward complete transparency in the workforce as well as a step toward change.
According to Google representatives, the search engine behemoth is hoping to make big changes in regards to diversity, stating in a blog that Google is not where it should be when it comes to a diverse workplace.
Earlier this year, civil rights leader Rev. Jesse Jackson began pressuring tech companies to release diversity data. Despite not being legally required to do so, Google followed suit by revealing information gathered as part of a report that major U.S. employers must file with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Apple Inc., Twitter, Hewlett-Packard Co. and Microsoft Corp. are four other giants under pressure to reveal workforce diversity data, but have not immediately responded to queries about possible plans to disclose such information.
Google senior vice president Laszlo Bock stated that the corporation has already been working towards diversifying the workplace, and since 2010 has donated more than $40 million towards helping women and girls receive computer science education.
Google also plans to work toward increasing diversity in the coming months by partnering with the Kapor Center for Social Impact to help close gender and ethnic gaps in the Silicon Valley tech workforce.
Rev. Jackson commended Google's disclosure, stating on Wednesday that the firm had taken a huge step in the right direction and urging other companies to follow suit.
