You know, Kevin, the really smart kid from the 1990 hit movie Home Alone that became the year's biggest hit and earned a hefty $286 million.
The movie made seven-year old and truly cute Macaulay Culkin (Kevin's real life alter ego) so big he was later called the most successful child star since Shirley Temple.
Macaulay, now 33, isn't Home Alone any more. In fact, he's touring Europe as the leader of his own comedy cover band called Pizza Underground.
He's no longer the cute Kevin mothers everywhere adored, but he's made the news by being booed offstage by irate fans apparently offended with Kevin's disrespecting Lou Reed's song, "Perfect Day."
Macaulay and his crew transformed Perfect Day into "It's a Pizza Day." For those of you that don't know what Perfect Day's about, the slow moving ballad is an ode to heroin. It's a Perfect Day because Lou's high on smack.
Seeing the original's been criticized to death for sounding more like a funeral dirge, it's hard imagining why Brits from Nottingham (Robin Hood's Nottingham) found offense with Macaulay's more hilarious version.
Word has it the Brits didn't like the unique way Macaulay's crew rendered Perfect Day. How exactly it was unique the news reports didn't say. But it got the Brits so ruffled they began booing the band and hurling cups at them-beer included.
"Why are you throwing those?" Macaulay asked the crowd as the cups of beer began raining on his band. "I'd rather drink them."
Stiff upper lip, eh, Macaulay?
The beer barrage ended and an encouraged Macaulay and his band got through three more songs before the Brits were at it again. They probably would have behaved very prim and proper if they'd known it was Kevin McCallister in front of them.
Festival organizers were reportedly upset about the dreadful reception given the Home Alone star. They noted Pizza Underground has been welcomed warmly in other cities in the UK and said they didn't agree with the crowd's reaction.
And here's good news for Macaulay's American fans. Pizza Underground is taking its unconventional rock n roll to New York City sometime soon.
