The two biggest names in the console wars have been at each other's throats lately.

Microsoft's Xbox One has been steadily gaining the sales lead against arch-nemesis, Sony's PS4. Xbox One's 1.2 million units sold put it on top of PS4 for the month of November.

Xbox One's huge spike in sales can be attributed to Microsoft's recent decision to cut its price to $350, which means it costs $50 less than its direct competitor, Sony's PS4. With this move, Xbox One sales in the US have almost tripled and generated more than 1.2 million units sold.

Another interesting fact that boosted Xbox One sales is its wide array of bundled games. One bundle consists of the Xbox One Console and games Assassin's Creed Unity and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. This is on top of previously bundled games like Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Sunset Overdrive.

To keep up with the harsh competition, Sony decided to bundle the classic Sim City 2000 game for free. In addition to that, buyers can choose a free game with a every new purchase of a PS4. Among these free games are Destiny, Far Cry 4, LittleBigPlanet 3 and NBA 2k15.

"We are committed to making Xbox the best place to play, with this year's best games, the best community of gamers to play with, and terrific value," said Microsoft's Corporate Vice-President for Xbox marketing Mike Nichols.

Fans are eager to see what Sony's reaction will be to Xbox One's recent price cut. Will this move create enough pressure to force Sony to cut its prices is yet to be seen.
