A Chinese woman posted pictures online after she beheading a kitten, sparking anger to a large number of infuriated web users who called her "insane".
The woman identified as Li Pingping worked as a marketing consultant in Guangdong-based Huizhou.
Li purchased a kitten earlier this month and beheaded the animal in her bathroom last week. This was according to a report from China Daily on Thursday.

After beheading the young feline, Li posted the body along with its detached head on Weibo. This caused an outrage among users and different reactions.
Li took down the posts after online criticisms lasted for days. She also wrote an open letter apologizing for the act and explained that she was drunk.
In her letter she stated that her act was driven by anger towards her father after suspecting he has an extramarital affair, reported China Daily.
Li's action came after reports of a worker in Hangzhou sacking a dog shelter on Monday and brutally killing seven puppies.
The man posted pictures of throwing a newly born puppy on to the ground after lifting it up. The photos on Weibo sparked huge numbers of critical comments.
Even as Li wrote an open letter asking for apology, her letter also ignited a similar outrage which drew more than 60,000 comments.
Most of the users berated Li's actions saying there was something wrong with the woman after killing and posting the photos of the kitten online. One user also said that what she did was cruel beyond imagination.
Meanwhile, other Weibo users said that Li might be psychologically ill and that her other posts before suggested she wanted to commit suicide.
Currently, China does not have any animal welfare act to safeguard non-endangered animals. Nevertheless, animal activists in the country are present and are often angered by animal cruelty being reported by multiple media outlets and photos posted online.
