A man was arrested by police officials in Rio De Janeiro after he was deemed as suspect in murders in the area but later confessed that he did kill 42 people for the past ten years, making him one of the country's most prolific killers.
The serial killer was identified as Sailson Jose das Gracas, 26, reportedly told media when he was detained at the police station in the state of Rio that he has killed these people "for pleasure" and that it was accompanied by adrenaline rush.

Das Gracas added that he was also a "killer for hire". He pointed out that he preferred to kill white females whom he has strangled to death. Among the 42 people he has murdered, 39 of them are believed by the officials to be women.
"I would wait for an opportunity to break into the house and kill," Das Gracas noted adding that there more often than not, he would watch his victims for a couple of months before killing his prey. He adds, "When I didn't do it I would get nervous, then I would go hunting [for other victims]."
Das Gracas also said that he would remove the nails of his victims to avoid being scratched by them or leave marks whenever they struggle. Another disturbing information he has revealed is that his wife allegedly knows about his killings.
He also talked about starting his first crimes when he was only 15 years old and he opted to snatch handbags. However, at 17, he reportedly killed his first victim but no other available information has been released regarding this.
The arrest came months after a security guard, also in Rio, confessed to have killed people who were homeless and transvestite in Goiania, Brazil.
