Thousands of activists rallied on the streets of Lima, Peru to voice out their demand for policymakers to do something about climate change. They want a 100 percent turnaround on the subject of renewable energy by the time 2050 hits.
According to the organizers of the said protest, about 15,000 people joined the demonstration to let their voice be heard in the area where the UN Climate Change Summit is being held. It was also during the event that these people decided to march in and make some noise to let their demands be known.

They have slogans and posters saying, "Keep the oil in the soil," and "Protect your food." They want an immediate response from the leaders who are behind this to change the system, as it will lead to a good change in the environment.
The protest almost looks like the one that happened in the United States last year where almost 400,000 people flooded the streets of Manhattan before the UN Climate Change Summit took place. Students, corporate people, farmers and even different indigenous tribes from Amazon joined the protest. That is when almost the whole world really united for one cost that means standing up for the planet.
Illegal logging, gas exploitation and unregistered mining activities are among the main causes of pollution in the Amazon and Andes mountains. This is why their people joined the rally to stop climate change since they are directly and greatly affected by it. Their jobs in their land were also jeopardized because it is through natural resources that their livelihoods are depending on.
The activists also the government of Peru to stop persecuting them, ince a lot of them have died championing their rights and fighting illegal environmental activities.
