The owner and manager of a children's school in India were arrested for forcing five students to participate in sexual acts and eat dog feces, local authorities announced on Thursday.

Local police raided the Chandraprabha Charitable Trust in Karjat, Mahrashtra, India and arrested school owner, Ajit Dabholkar and female assistant, Lalita Tonde, on Monday. The pair was suspected of committing multiple serious sexual child abuse violations against five children.

According to Karjat's police inspector, R.R. Patil, the raid was brought about by a complaint from Childline charity when a boy had confessed to his parents that he was being abused in school.

Childline director Anuradha Sahasrabuddhe said the children suffered through forced sexual and inhumane acts.

"Boys were forced to undress and lie down, after which girls were asked to worship their private parts," she said.

Among other things, the children were raped and forced to watch porn, after which the pair ordered them to act it out with each other while they watched, Reuters reported. If the children resisted, they were forced to eat dog feces. And if they vomited from it, they were also forced to eat their own vomit.

A day after the pair was arrested, they appeared in court after a formal complaint was filed by the children's parents, with the assistance of Childline, Dunyanews learned. The suspects are in custody until June 5 and are faced with a number of charges.

The Chandraprabha Charitable Trust housed around 32 to 35 children from disadvantaged families. All of the students are minors with an age range of 4 to 14.

The school has been operating since 2002 but has not been registered. Reuters says this may have been the main reason why local child welfare inspections had failed to keep this school in their radar.

Meanwhile, local police are still conducting investigations as to whether there are other suspects and if there were more victims aside from the 5 children who had already come forward.
