A rep for Keira Knightley has confirmed that actress and her husband, 31-year old musician James Righton, are expecting their first child this coming spring.

However, after the announcement was made in ELLEUK.com on December 12, her rep also said that the actress will not be further commenting on her pregnancy.

The said confirmation comes a day after several sources reported that the "Imitation Game" actress is currently on her second trimester.

In a previous interview, the British star said that she would welcome starring in a movie that dealt with infertility.

She admitted that she believes the issue of attempting to have a baby only to fail is horrendous and extremely difficult. The star also shared that she has seen some of her closest friends have to deal with the reality of not being able to have a baby, and that she can certainly sympathize with them.

"It seems like one of the most dramatic things that can happen to half of the population - and actually, the other half as well because, my God, the unbelievable toll it takes on male partners - and there are no good films about it," she shared.

When previously asked if she was looking forward to motherhood and raising her own children, Knightley shared that she was keen to being a mother, but that she would never give up her acting career to be a stay-at-home mom.

According to the actress, "I don't want to deny my femininity. But would I want to be a stay-at-home mother? No. On the other hand, you should be allowed to do that, as should men, without being sneered at."

The actress met and started dating Righton in February 2011. The two wed last year in front of 11 of their closest family and friends in the South of France.
