Strauss won the crown over 2nd runner up Miss Hungary Edina Kulcsar and 3rd runner up Miss United States Elizabeth Safrit. During her speech, she said that it is a proud and at the same time a humbling moment for her that she won the crown and that her dreams just turned into reality.

Ever since she won the title in her own country as Miss South Africa back in March, she said that she got goose bumps just thinking about the coronation.
She showed so much love for her country during her speech even dedicating her victory to her country. Strauss is proud to be her country's and it is such as honor for her to be its representative.
The newly crowned beauty queen is a 22-year-old senior medical student. She came from a family whose background is in the same industry, as her father is a doctor and her mother is a nurse. She was wearing a long off-the-shoulder gown in pale pink, showing a little bit of her chest when she won the title.
There were 122 contestants who participated in the pageant to win this year's Miss World.
During the event, candidates were seen wearing costumes that represent their country. For their group performance, some of them also joined in singing the popular inspirational ballad You Raise Me Up made famous by American recording artist, Josh Groban.
After the coronation, the other beauty queens stayed on stage to dance to the music of LMFAO's Party Rock Anthem. Sky Blu from the music group made a solo performance wearing a fairytale prince-like costume.
