Amazon, the country's leading online retailer, is testing an online takeout and delivery order service in its home city of Seattle.
The service named Takeout & Delivery allows customers to order food from Amazon's partner local restaurants and have the orders delivered to their homes or picked-up.

Amazon said customers can order from 141 partner restaurants. Most of these food firms only offer takeout, however. Twenty two restaurants deliver. Customers can pay from their Amazon account.
Some say it's quite easy to use the service. All you need do is search for a restaurant in Amazon's list. Once you've made a decision, Amazon will be responsible for arranging the delivery.
Industry sources said Amazon will expand the Delivery and Takeout Service to other cities outside Washington State.
AmazonFresh, Amazon's grocery delivery service, was launched in Seattle in 2007. It's now in Southern California, Brooklyn and Philadelphia.
