(Photo : Viber) Viber has launched three new free-to-play mobile games to fit with its messaging service, available in 5 countries today.
Viber is launching three new mobile games on its messaging service today, Candy Mania, Viber Pop and Wild Luck Casino.
The three games will come in a separate app called Viber Games, allowing users to sign in with their Viber account, play against friends, track scores and gift friends.

Third-party developers Storm8 and Playtika worked on the three games. Viber will offer more in the future when it launches the service in more regions.
To start, Viber Games will be available in Belarus, Ukraine, Israel, Malaysia and Singapore. The full launch will happen in 2015 and Viber expects to have more games by that time.
"The games were built using 'Viber Connect,' a new private API that allows users to sign in with their Viber ID to connect with their friends and contacts on Viber, send them gifts and brag about their achievements. Additionally, users will be able to send game invites via Viber, and see what games their friends are currently playing."
All three games are free-to-play and will come with microtransactions. Viber has been expanding its features in the past year, to include video calls, VoIP, group chats and public groups.
In February, Japanese e-commerce retailer Rakuten acquired Viber for $900 million. Rakuten has been pushing the messaging service in its home country, where messaging service LINE currently reigns supreme.
Viber is following in the footsteps of LINE, Kakaotalk and Tango by offering mobile games. This appears to be an Asian trend, since WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger both offer no mobile games through the messaging service.
It is unclear how many users Viber has at the time, the number sits somewhere between 250 and 350 million. WhatsApp currently is the most popular messaging service with 650 million active users. Facebook Messenger and WeChat sit a bit behind at 500 million and 450 million, respectively.
