(Photo : James Wearing) Last Year is a 5 vs 1 Multiplayer Survival Horror game that's essentially Friday the 13th.
A potential multiplayer survival horror game called "Last Year" - which is essentially a Friday the 13th video game for the PC - has gained traction with a successful campaign via Kickstarter, the largest online funding platform for projects.

Created by former Ubisoft game developer James Wearing, the detailed five-against-one multiplayer survival horror "Last Year" Kickstarter campaign began with a $50,000 goal. With three days to go, the campaign has already managed to receive nearly 3,000 backers and has raised more than $80,000.
Wearing aims to depict a number of clichés within horror films and implement them into "Last Year". The game will consist of five players that would play the role of stereotypical high school characters including the jock, popular girl and nerd, which all have their own unique abilities.
In addition, one player will be playing the role of a killer and will have five different types of killers to choose from with each having its own unique weapon and play style.
The game will explore classic horror film locations such as Camp Silver Lake (based on Camp Crystal Lake in Friday the 13th). The five stereotypical players will use their unique abilities together to complete objectives and survive.
One of the biggest clichés in horror films is the killer seemingly always popping up when least expected with little to no effort, and Wearing will implement that in "Last Year" with the killer utilizing "game-changing Predator mechanics."
Since survivors run faster than the killer, the killer needs to try and take survivors by surprise and attack up close. That's where the Predator mode comes in handy, which essentially allows the killer to spawn almost anywhere the player wants.
"Once he's in predator mode he can move super fast, way faster than survivors can, but he can't attack. He can, however, watch you and study your movements," Wearing said when describing the mode. "At this point the killer can spawn back in behind a door and wait for you. (There's a limit to how close the Killer can spawn in near survivors). As soon as you walk past, or open the door then BOOM, a sudden axe to the face."
Anyone who pledges more than $20 for the project will gain access to download and join the Beta testing, and will also receive a finished copy of the game for PC.
