The actress, who rose to international prominence for her role in the long running TV series Friends, find it hurtful to be repeatedly slammed and accused of sacrificing motherhood for work and fortune.

The Emmy-winning star finds it a misnomer that career-successful women who opt not to take on the role of motherhood are actually a failure in life!

"I don't like [the pressure] that people put on me, on women, that you've failed yourself as a female because you haven't procreated," she said.

"You may not have a child come out of your vagina, but that doesn't mean that you aren't mothering - dogs, friends, friends, children," she continued.

The actress has been the center of the media scrutiny since her breakup with husband Brad Pitt in 2005.

She has been the center of rumors, ranging from being pregnant, planning on getting married, or in an ensuing quarrel with Angelina Jolie, who Pitt married this year. The couple has been raising six children since they got together shortly after Pitt's breakup with Aniston.

Photos of Aniston showing baby bump while attending a red carpet event hit the internet and the press last August, triggering the actress to strongly deny the news.

In an interview with Allure magazine's staff, Aniston said that she was hurt of the of the various accusations against her on her decision to put motherhood on hold for the benefit of her career.

"Oh, God, so many painful things. The accusation that I've put my career before the want, the desire to be a mother," she said in the interview.

She also considers the scrutiny an assault not just to her but also to other women who chose not to have kids, given that some of her friends also "decided not to have children, who can't have children, or are trying but are having a difficult time."

While the actress has learned to put up with the rumors, still, there would be times that she just doesn't want to take it.

"Even saying it gets me a little tight in my throat," she said.

While Aniston dropped no hints whether she wants to have a baby or not, she, however, she was glowing when she talked about how happy she is of her fiancé for two years now, actor Justin Theroux, who she praised for being very supported of her.

She defined Theroux as a "nurturer, "fiercely loyal," and "protective," who "takes care of our dogs, he takes care of me, he takes care of friends."

Asked about any wedding plans, the actress said she does not want to talk about that for now.
