Talk show host Katie Lee Gifford, who has been openly defending Bill Cosby for weeks, revealed Tuesday that the embattled comedian attempted to kiss her in the late '70s, New York Daily News reports.

Gifford and her backup singers opened for Cosby during a comedy tour, the Today show host said.
However, Gifford emphasized that Cosby has been very kind toward her and her backup singers for the two years that they have performed together.
But there was a major "disclaimer."
"I along with so many Americans and people around the world don't want these (accusations) to be true," Gifford said on the show.
She eventually admitted that the actor tried to kiss him toward the end of the tour.
"I said, 'No,' I said, 'Bill, we're friends,'" she said.
"He said, 'OK, good night," and I said, 'Good night.' I went into my room and he went into his room,'" she continued.
Gifford also recalled that the comedian used to serve three cappuccinos, one for her and the two is for her singers, after each performance.
The talk show host admitted that that now gives her a "chill" after hearing supermodel Beverly Johnson share her harrowing tale of how Cosby drugged her drink before sexually assaulting her.
"I'm not saying these women's allegations are not true," said Gifford.
"From my own personal experiences, it didn't happen."
Gifford aired her side of the story one day after Camille Cosby stepped up to defend her husband and slam the media for unfairly covering the mounting scandal and for prejudicing her husband.
Mrs. Cosby even went on to compare the malicious press coverage to Rolling Stone's mishandling of the University of Virginia rape case.
Bill Cosby has been slapped by sexual assault claims by already two dozen women. The 77-year-old comedian, however, remains mum about it, while his lawyer continues to deny the claims and purely "fantastical."
