Beleaguered TV actor Stephen Collins confessed to have sexually abused three female minors.

The actor's admission was made via a long statement to People.

Collins has been in the public eye after a taped conversation with his therapist where he admitted to have committed sexual abuse released to TMZ.

The recording detailed that the incident happened in a 20-year time span and that there were three victims from 1973 to 1994 who were then minors.

In the statement for People, Collins also explained why he hasn't directly asked apology to the women he had assaulted.

"Forty years ago, I did something terribly wrong that I deeply regret. I have been working to atone for it ever since. I've decided to address these issues publicly because two months ago, various news organizations published a recording made by my then-wife, Faye Grant, during a confidential marriage therapy session in January, 2012. This session was recorded without the therapist's or my knowledge or consent," he stated.

He further claimed that the "publication of the recording" had caused "assumptions and innuendos" that he believed have gone far beyond what really happened."

He made that statement in the hopes that the people could hear the truth.

People further revealed that Collins has agreed to sit down with Yahoo Global News Anchor Katie Couric for an interview based on his People statement.

"I did have an opportunity to do so with one of the women, 15 years later. I apologized and she was extraordinarily gracious," Collins quipped.

The actor is still in a heated and already-lengthy divorce battle with her Grant.

"But after I learned in the course of my treatment that my being direct about such matters could actually make things worse for them by opening old wounds, I have not approached the other two women, one of whom is now in her 50s and the other in her 30s," he explained of why until now he hasn't reached out to his two other victims.  

But the woman who was just 10 when Collins molested her rejected his much-delayed apology, TMZ reports.

"Stephen is minimizing the incident. It was not just a spontaneous touching ... that aggression resulted in him ejaculating," she said.  

The woman, who is now in her 50s, slammed Collins for his decision not to personally ask for forgiveness to her and another victim.

"His assertion that he wanted to avoid reopening an old wound seems nonsensical to me," she said.

She also believed that there are more of Collins victims out there, contrary to what the actor confessed that there were only the three of them.

A NYPD investigation is already being conducted, but whatever the result could not merit a lawsuit because of the statute of limitations.

And it's clear apologies aren't enough for her.

"Why isn't he donating any disposable income, beyond what he needs to survive, to a child-abuse charity?,"  she asked.

She believed that the least Collins could do is to apologize to his victims.
