AmazonFresh Grocery Expands its Service in Los Angeles

Amazon confirmed a report on June 10th 2013, it has decided to expand its online grocery delivery service AmazonFresh to Los Angeles, its first market outside Seattle. The company home page was now updated with the newest version of expansion to Los Angeles Area, as well as the AmazonFresh mobile users for iOS and Android have been refreshed. AmazonFresh has launched its grocery delivery service in Seattle since 2007; it is a subsidiary of the Amazon.com that is based in Seattle.

The expansion means L.Aresidents can now order their groceries online through the mobile app or AmazonFresh website, specified delivery time, and have them delivered right to their door. The company says L.A. customers will now have access to AmazonFresh's over 500,000 products, residents in Los Angeles can choose from a wide selection of fresh produce, pantry, household, health, and beauty goods, including items from local restaurants.

In the Los Angeles area, the service is available to Amazon Prime members. Prime members receive the service free for 90 days. After the free trial, Prime members will be automatically upgraded to "Prime Fresh" members, and they will be charged $299 each year to use the grocery service as well as regular Amazon Prime benefits. Which includes all the normal benefits of the $79 Prime membership (two-day shipping on Amazon purchases, and access to the retailer's instant video library). "Prime Fresh" members will also receive free same-day and early morning delivery on grocery orders over $35.

The AmazonFresh website also provides convenience benefits like save your shopping lists, see your purchase history, and browse recipes.

A boon has been experienced for e-commerce sites and online shopping via the Internet as growing online usage continues, which AmazonFresh is also planning to expand its the online groceries delivery service to San Francisco Bay Area later this year.
