The Game of Thrones universe went on tilt Tuesday when the editor of the famous epic novels suggested there might be an eight book in the making instead of the originally planned seven.
It is a big deal for fanatics of both printed and TV series, when Anne Groell, editor of George R.R. Martin's epics, hinted there might be an eight book in Martin's epic Song of Ice and Fire Saga.

To pacify the fan outburst on the Internet, Martin took to Entertainment Weekly to clear things up.
Martin said during the interview that he does not plan to write an eight book to add to the originally planned seven. However, and almost similar to what Groell hinted, he said he wants to give himself some elbow room just in case something unexpected comes up.
"My plan is to finish in seven," Martin said. "But my original plan was to finish in three.
With regard to the TV adaptation, Martin said he does not think seven seasons will be enough to cover the entirety of the epic novels.
"I don't think it will be enough to tell the story we're telling in the books," Martin told Entertainment Weekly.
"But first, I have to finish Book Six. Get back to me when I'm half-way through Book Seven and then maybe I'll tell you something more meaningful," Martin added.
Just like other writers in the fantasy business (and generally with anything that involves writing), Martin said he writes the stories and they just grow. He said he deals with aspects of the story and sometimes finds himself not at the end of a story.
Martin remains true to his answers way back in 2011 when asked about the subject. In 2011, Martin said, "I'm as firm as I am... until I decide not to be firm."
The author also mentioned he has high regard for the fourth season, specifically praising Pedro Pascal's performance of Prince Oberyn Martell whose eyes gouged and brains splattered by the 'Mountain' Clegane.
However, he also pointed out some scenes in the TV series that have diverged from the books' texts. The changes do not affect Martin in any way because he foresaw them happening in the first place.
"There's a certain snowball effect of making changes and I think that will continue," Martin said.
