Authorities from Pakistan announced on Sunday that they have arrested several Taliban attackers who were held responsible for the death of 148 people during an attack in a military-run school in Peshawar last week.
According to the reports, there were four more convicted militants who were executed amid the mourning of the citizens and the accusations against the government of not acting on the terrorist attacks that the militant group has been doing for years now.

The latest attack killed mostly children and has sparked concerns not only in the country but also from the international community. However, the authorities who made the announcement declined to give any information about the arrested suspects and that they were not able to present any evidence of the claimed detentions.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said a few suspects were taken into custody but did not give further information. He also mentioned that the investigation was going well.
Critics say that the judicial system of Pakistan and the lack of evidence is often the reason for militants not being prosecuted. Also, the lack of political will is considered to be another factor for failure to stop militant groups from doing their random attacks.
During the attack, there were seven gunmen who wore explosive belts and stormed into the school while shooting the 148 people, 132 of them were students. Also, more than 100 were recorded to have been injured from the eight-hour attack.
Due to this, thousands of people gathered and protested around the country on Sunday to mourn the death of these people and to call on the government to act on the latest attack. There were a lot of flowers and lighted candles in front of the photos of the people who were murdered.
Mourners also chanted different slogans such as "Death to terrorists", "Talibans are savages" and "The blood of martyrs will not go to waste".
