The bombshell that saw tech nerd Steve Ballmer getting the OK to buy the Los Angeles Clippers has been quickly followed by an even bigger mega-explosion.

Word on the hard court has it that Ballmer is bent on getting Miami Heat superstar and future Hall of Famer LeBron James to play ball for the Clippers.

That would mean the Clips' dynamic duo of Chris Paul and Blake Griffin could become a Really Big Three with the inclusion of King James. LeBron becomes a free agent at the end of the current 2014 NBA season in July.

In the meantime, LeBron and the Heat have to fend off a grimly determined San Antonio Spurs to defend their NBA crown in a seven-game finals to begin Thursday.

Sports commentators said it would be wrong to assume LeBron will automatically re-sign with Miami, no matter if the Heat win or lose their title. They also believe the LA Clippers and not the Cleveland Cavaliers (LeBron's former team) will be King James' most probable destination.

Insiders say the cash-flush Ballmer, the former CEO of Microsoft, Inc., will certainly spend large to make the Clippers a title contender in the next few years. Reports confirm that Ballmer will improve scouting and analytics, and will spend lavishly on the necessities.

Of course, Ballmer will need great players to make a great team. That's why LeBron is top on his list of future acquisitions.

Ballmer won't see any more problems from Clippers' former owner Donald Sterling, who has agreed to give up his fight to keep the team and accepted the record $2 billion sale arranged by his wife, Shelley.

Sterling acquired the Clippers in 1981 for only $12.5 million.

Sterling also pledged to drop his $1billion antitrust lawsuit against the NBA and allow Ballmer to proceed with his purchase of the Clippers.

The NBA's other 29 owners are widely expected to approve the sale to Ballmer.
