Not only has rapper Iggy Azalea had to contend with Azealia Banks, she's also had to face hackers threatening to leak her sex tape as punishment for her misappropriation of "black culture" and direspecting #ICantBreathe.

Instead of joining the haters, rapper Q-Tip instead decided to be more compassionate, teaching Iggy Azalea on what actually drove hip hop music.

"HipHop is a[n] artistic and socio-political movement/culture that sprang from the disparate ghettos of NY in the early 70's Coming off the heels of the CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT and approaching the end of the Vietnam war it was a crossroads 4 America specially for blacks in the US our neighborhoods were PROLIFERATED w/a rush of HEROINE," Q-tip began his online soliloquy.

He wrote of black men being unable to get the proper support from their families and their government. So because they couldn't find what they needed from everybody else, they turned to the streets, to gangs, and to crime.

Then hip hop sprung from the depths - from the need to express what could not be expressed, from the need to find a voice when no voice was given.

According to Q-Tip, "We had records, turntables, ideas and INGENUITY being natural chemist we took from whatever was availed to us and we created something mighty and special."

He continued by saying that despite what the equality people had fought for, racism continued to exist, and black men continued to lack the support they needed and deserved. But through hip hop, they found depth, passion and creativity.

From being a national phenomenon, hiphop became global. It wasn't only the culture of the streets any longer - it belonged to everyone.

But, as Q-Tip put it, although Iggy Azalea has a right to hiphop just like everyone else, she should understand why blacks are so emotionally attached to it. He says he hopes that instances such as the ones she has faced will open further dialogue so people can understand why music affects culture.
