Russia's Maria Sharapova fights off another three set match as she wins her semi-final match against Canadian Eugenie Bouchard while Simona Halep over-powers Andrea Petkovic to setup their final match in the French Open tennis tournament held at the Roland Garros stadium in Paris.
After dropping off a set to 20-year-old Bouchard, towering Sharapova took 2 hours and 40 minutes to defeat shorter player Eugenie in 3 sets.
On the other semi-finals match, fourth seed Halep continues her domination at the court as she still has yet to drop a set winning against Germany's Petkovic 6-2, 7-6 at the Philippe Chatrier Court.
This is Sharapova's 3rd straight finals appearance in the French Open, winning the tournament in 2012 against Italian Sara Errani and losing last year to American Serena Williams.
22-year-old Halep, on the other hand, became the first ever Romanian to reach a grand slam final in 34 years.
18th seed Bouchard started her match with Sharapova blistering hot, showing off her powerful hits as she fires herself up for an upset taking the first set 4-6.
When the score was tied at 5 a piece at the second set, seventh seed Sharapova poised herself like a true champion, breaking Bouchard twice to take the second set 7-5. She never looked back as Sharapova took command of the last set winning the match at 6-2.
Sharapova reached the semi-finals by defeating Australian Samantha Stosur and Spanish-Venezuelan Gabrine Muguruza, who defeated last year's champion Serena Williams in the second round, by coming back from a one set loss.
Sharapova, now 27 years old, has all praises against first ever Canadian junior grand slam champion Bouchard after winning their match. Bouchard also became the second Canadian who ever reached the semi-finals of a Grand Slam tournament.
Halep didn't say that she had any difficulty with her match against 28th seed Petkovic.
