According to Techly, the creation of this new smartwear is all thanks to two teenagers from the United Kingdom. Called the KipstR, the watch was awarded by Virgin Media with a commission so that they can develop the device.
It is said that the watch's current prototype comes with a "pulse-oximeter, a non-invasive device capable of measuring when someone dozes off." The design of the device has also been develop so that it will be compatible with TiVo service of Virgin Media. A number of fortunate Virgin Media subscribers will be able to give the watch a try this holiday season.
As PC World has explained, KipstR is a 3D-printed wristband that makes use of an impressive technology that can direct the user's DVR either to record or pause whatever is on the television, in the event that he or she falls asleep while watching the program.
The pulse oximeter is responsible for monitoring the user's status, and, if it determines that he or she has fallen asleep, it will automatically perform the task it was set to do: pause the program or record the show on the DVR.
It also has a convenient resume feature that allows it to instruct the DVR to have the program run again once the user has awoken.
