According to the report by the China National Radio, several rescue workers were already at the scene. Firefighters were also seen wearing protective gears, including gas masks, as they enter the factory searching for those who were still trapped inside the facility.

Also present at the scene were policemen, medical workers and personnel from China's work safety authorities.

The local governments of Haidong and Qinghai have not issued a statement regarding the incident as of this posting.

Last Monday, a woman sustained severe burns on her body following a gas explosion in Wuhan, Hubei province.

The woman, identified as Zhang Hua, 30, was innocently searching for the source of a gas leak at her apartment. Her only mistake was that she used a lighter to look for the source of the gas leak.

At least 80 percent of Zhang's body was burnt during the explosion. The explosion also damaged those of her closest neighbors.

On the way to the hospital, Zhang told a neighbor, how rescued her, that she tried to find the source of the gas leak with a lighter after she smelt gas. The moment she lit the lighter, the explosion occurred.

The gas company that provides gas in the apartment said the leak was from the gas hose in Zhang's kitchen.

Zhang's condition was still being observed in the hospital.
