While Taylor Swift continues to assert singlehood, fellow musician and pal Ed Sheeran is shipping for a romance between the "Shake It Off" singer and fellow New Yorker, Orlando Bloom.

In a recent interview, the Grammy nominee has apparently expressed his desire for a romance to spark between the 25 year old singer and the 37 year old 'Lord of the Rings' and 'The Hobbit' actor.

 "He's lovely, and they live in the same building," Sheeran said. "[I'm hoping that] the magic might present itself eventually."

Interestingly enough, the two subjects of Sheeran's wishful pairing already share a common friend-Selena Gomez; which might make the possibility of romance between the two a distinct possibility.

Proximity and degrees of separation aside however, Swift has been pretty vocal about how difficult it is to maintain a relationship given the media attention surrounding the pop star. In a previous interview, she has expressly noted how dating or even simply finding someone has become the least of her priorities given how hard it is to factor it into her life. 

"I don't know how a guy is supposed to walk next to his girlfriend when there are 20 men with cameras, and he can't protect his girlfriend because that's the life she chose. I just don't see how it could work, so I don't think about it, and I kind of run from it when it presents itself. 'Cause I don't think any guy really ... They think that they would want to get to know me, and maybe date me, but I don't think they want what comes with it."

Bloom however, who was previously married to Victoria's Secret Angel Miranda Kerr, is no stranger to paparazzi and media attention, so there may be hope yet for Sheeran's dream match-up.
