She's got what it takes to be the next rock 'n' roll star and her YouTube video received more than 50 million hits. But singing nun Suor Cristina, the newly-crowned "The Voice of Italy" champion, hinted she might shun a full rock 'n' roll career.

Suor Cristina sang Alicia Keys' No One, the song that first drew the public's attention to her in March, on Friday night's finals, with the audience cheering her loudly. Also in the audience were nuns from her congregation, the Ursuline Order.

The singing nun got the attention of the Italian viewers of the show because, aside from being the first nun to have entered the "The Voice of Italy" finals, she also performed lively dance acts and belted renditions of lusty pop classic songs such as "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" and the Dirty Dancing soundtrack, Time of My Life.

Singing, however, is not something new to Suor Cristina. Before becoming a nun, Cristina used to be a singer in a band and admitted to be a rebel. But things have suddenly turned around and the reformed rebel decided to enter the convent. She is now in Milan living with other nuns.

She's just an ordinary nun, Cristina said, but after Friday's victory, she now becomes a nun with a recording contract with Universal. But right after the show, Suor Cristina hinted she might not accept a full time career as a rock 'n' roll star.

Sister Cristina, a Sicilian native, told journalists that she will go back to her priorities, which are prayer, waking up early, and going to school. These things, she said, will be fundamental to begin something new in the future.

On Friday, Suor Cristina wore her black habit and placed a crucifix around her neck. The moment she was announced as champion, she punched the air and recited "Our Father", making the organizers and audience puzzled, although they understand that Cristina is a nun.

Sister Cristina, who has been wearing the black habit throughout the competition, outperformed another finalist, a 28-year-old hard rock singer.

The singing nun believed she was just doing what Pope Francis has been promoting, a Bible of Joy. And by giving people joy through her singing, Sister Cristina said she is on the right track.
