Katie Holmes Says ‘Dawson Creek’ Opened Doors For Her; Tom Cruise's Ex-Wife Admits She Hasn't 'Moved Past It'

Katie Holmes, the actress who rose to fame playing Joey Potter in Dawson's Creek, admits her fondness for the role. The former Mrs. Cruise has said that it opened the doors for her acting career.
"I don't know if I have moved past it but I really don't care,"Holmes said.
In a recent interview in People magazine, she talks about her divorce with Tom Cruise. She has vehemently expressed that she didn't want that time in her moment to define her since she was already an actress before, during and even at present.

Holmes had filed a divorce from Tom Cruise in 2012. She claims that after the divorce, she doesn't set a lot of rules for herself and her fears were also gone.
At 35, a single mother who has been divorced for two years, Katie Holmes admits that she still isn't ready to start dating.
When asked about her 8- year old daughter with Cruise, she said she cherises her daughter Suri like no other.
However, Holmesclaims that like most moms, there are moments of self doubt but she's learning everyday, eversince she became a mom.
"My patience has grown," as she fondly describes the patience needed in motherhood. She now focuses all her energy and free time on her daughter Suri. And says cooking is one of the activities the mother and daughter enjoy doing together.
Despite Dawson's Creek ending 11 years ago, Holmes is looking forward to her directorial debut with the film adaptation of the tearjerker book,,"All We Had," written by Ann Weatherwax.
It has been reported that Holmes is also playing a role as one of its stars in the movie, aside from co-producing it with Jane Rosenthal. was written by Anne Weatherwax, which was released in August of this year.
