A Chinese woman in central Hunan was arrested after leading her angered family to beat up a doctor and a pregnant nurse on the basis of medical treatment dissatisfaction of their relative who was suffering from cancer.
The attack led by the woman and her family shocked the entire country. The attacker was identified as a 45 year old woman whose surname was reported to be Ouyang. The latest hospital attack happened in First Hospital of Hunan University of Chinese Medicine. The woman was later arrested for her participation in the attack which happened during the wee hours of Monday.

The victims of the attack were a five month pregnant nurse and a female doctor. The nurse suffered signs of threatened miscarriage while the female doctor suffered from concussion and bruises. The attack came after Ouyang and other family members were dissatisfied with the emergency response that the medical team rendered to their relative.
After the patient suffering from lung cancer died, Ouyang forced the doctor to kneel in front of the dead body for a few minutes. The police said that Ouyang did not reveal the identities of the other people involved during the attack. The police also added that the nurse said that one of the attackers was a civil servant.
The authorities in China have greatly condemned attacks on medical staff in the past years despite the strained relationships between patients and doctors. Most of the patients in China have been accusing medical practitioners of excessive medicine prescription and rushed consultations. Meanwhile, doctors complained regarding low salaries even as workload are deemed overloaded.
A similar incident involving strained patient-doctor relationship in October last year after man stabbed a doctor to death and injured two medical staff in Zhejiang Province’s eastern Wenling. The man confessed that he was deeply enraged by the results after undergoing nasal surgery.
