While ubiquitous, smartphones still lack the specs, features and functionalities that can make it as invaluable as a desktop or a laptop.
Enter the $35 dock called "Andromium," which is said to have the power to allow users to turn their Android OS smartphones into a desktop PC or a gaming console.

Extreme Tech said Andromium is a Kickstarter project that has taken hardware and software, combined all together, to develop something that will catch the attention of the public.
What you get for pledging $35 on Kickstarter is a small and portable device you can use not only to charge your smartphone, but also to connect an HDMI cable.
The Andromium system consists of an app and a smartphone dock.
The Andromium OS app provides the desktop interface. The dock has an HDMI out, USB ports and Bluetooth connectivity so you can connect a mouse, keyboard, game controllers and other peripherals.
The desktop interface look a lot like Windows 7 with a taskbar, a status bar and apps that run in windowed mode. Android apps launched on Andromium will pop up in full screen.
The Andromium OS app will be available on Google Play when the system launches. Currently, however, the dock is only compatible with Samsung Galaxy S and Note devices.
The Andromium OS basically eliminates the need for loading custom ROMs or performing a root that can potentially damage your smartphone. All you need to do is to dock your phone on it and wait for few seconds to see it transform to a desktop-like device.
According to Kickstarter, there are many different reasons as to why this device can be of great use to you. It has even gone as far as to say there will no longer be a need for you to have separate equipment such as laptop and a desktop entertainment system.
The developers say all of the functionalities these devices have can be packed into your smartphone, thanks to its Andromium dock.
