China, Pakistan Sign 25 MOUs to Promote IT Cooperation

China and Pakistan recently signed 25 commercial MOUs at the Information Technology (IT) forum held in Shenzhen to support bilateral cooperation in the IT sector.
The Consulate General of Pakistan in Guangzhou, China organized the forum, which was the first ever to be held between the two countries.

The forum was organized in partnership with Shenzhen Science and Technology Business Platform, Shenzhen Software Industry Association, Shenzhen Science, Technology and Innovation Commission, Shenzhen Software Park and Shenzhen Hi-Tech Park.
The forum aimed to complement both countries' expertise in software and IT to benefit and achieve a win-win result.
Reports say 200 participants from China and 63 from Pakistan attended the forum.
Pakistani participants included Pakistan Software Export Board, COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Enterprises from Private Sector Software Industry and members of CIIT's Software Houses and Telecommunication Study Center.
Liu Jian, director general of Shenzhen Science, Technology and Innovation Commission, said Pakistan offers cost effective advantage and suitable policy environment.
He also said Shenzhen's IT products output valued US$200 billion in 2013, while its software products output was worth US$1 billion.
